DENIM DAY is a sexual violence prevention education campaign that raises community awareness about the devastating impacts of sexual violence and how to prevent it. Inspired by Italian Parliamentarians’ action of wearing jeans on the steps of the Supreme Court following the overturning of a rape conviction, Denim Day was born in April 1999. Over the years the campaign has expanded into an international movement to end sexual violence. Last year over 11 million individuals in 118 countries were reached through this campaign. Wear jeans for a purpose!
